Teachers are San Diego Israelis who believe in teaching in Hebrew.  They have degrees in education and/or substantial teaching experience in after school environments.  They are passionate about helping children learn to confidently speak and understand the language and they are creative and fun in their methods. 

Naava Ben-Chaim - Ivrit b'Ivrit

  • B.A. in Creative Education from Kibbutzim College of Education in Tel – Aviv. Specialization in Theater.  Also completed coursework to teach movement with children ages 3-7
  • 2 years working as pre-school and Kindergarten teacher in Israel and San Diego
Maya Cohen - Ivrit b'Ivrit 
  • Certified teacher for preschool up to second grade.  Major in Early Childhood Development with specialization in Science, Music - Classic and Modern Repertoire, Music Therapy and Movement
  • 6 years of experience teaching pre-school in San Diego and in Israel  
  • 2 years working with an Israeli Education Television program coordinating a team of curriculum writers and developing pedagogical materials
Dalya Elmaleh - Ivrit b'Ivrit
  • Levinsky Seminar -Teachers Training College Tel-Aviv and Hebrew Teachers Training College, Johannesburg, South Africa
  • San Diego State University- taught Hebrew for 2 years
  • Over 20 years experience teaching schools from 1st grade through high school in United States and South Africa.
Orna McCann - Artist and Fine Arts Program Instructor

  • ClarkUniversity, Worcester, MA 1995, Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude with high honors in studio Art
  • Arts: Ars Sutoria, Milano, Italy 1988 and Modelista Stylista - Shoe Designer
  • 15 yrs teaching experience: PreSchool, Elementary School (K-8), High School, University in Fine Arts (Photography, Painting, Drawing, Collage), Hebrew and Judaic Studies.  Worcester, MA and San Diego, CA
